Find Her – Book review

find her

This is my first ever Lisa Gardner book, needless to say my first book in the D.D. Warren series.
I was not sure if the book was a stand alone , but i picked it up based on goodreads reviews.
I have to say i finished the book in two days !
The way the author depicts the ordeal of being kidnapped, the survivor’s guilt is surreal !

Plot:

Flora Dane is a victim.
Seven years ago, carefree college student Flora was kidnapped while on spring break. For 472 days, Flora learned just how much one person can endure.

Flora Dane is a survivor.
Miraculously alive after her ordeal, Flora has spent the past five years reacquainting herself with the rhythms of normal life, working with her FBI victim advocate, Samuel Keynes. She has a mother who’s never stopped loving her, a brother who is scared of the person she’s become, and a bedroom wall, covered with photos of other girls who’ve never made it home.

Flora Dane is reckless.
. . .Or is she? When Boston Detective D.D. Warren is called to the scene of a crime – a dead man and the bound, naked woman who killed him – she learns that Flora has taken on three other suspects since her return to society. Is Flora a victim, or a vigilante? And with her firsthand knowledge of criminal behaviour , could she hold the key to rescuing a missing college student whose abduction has rocked Boston? When Flora herself disappears, D.D. realise a far more sinister predator is out there. One who’s determined that this time, Flora Dane will never escape. And now it is all up to D.D. Warren to Find Her.

Thoughts:

After being kidnapped and held for 472 days,Flora Dane changes.
Her character is broken down and rebuilt for survival !And when she gets kidnapped again, its what she has been unknowingly preparing for in the past 5 years !

It vividly paints the horror being kidnapped and held in a coffin sized box !And how the ordeal changes her as a person.the attention to detail is so good that when the author explains Flora being inside the coffin sized box, you actually get transported into the box !

It was difficult to predict who was at the other end of the events unfolding and maintained the mystery as promised !So you keep turning pages.

It has been an emotional journey reading this book, from horror to awe !

I think i will pick up other LISA GARDNER books.

Have you read any Lisa Gardner books? what do you think ?
